HONOLULU - The Hawai‘i State Department of Health (DOH)
Disabilities and Communication Access Board (DCAB) has partnered with
government, private and community agencies to put on one of the biggest
showcases on assistive technology in Hawaii. The Tools for Life EXPO
will provide information and hands-on displays of new technological
tools, civil rights education, and services to maximize independence in
society.
The Tools for Life 2004 EXPO will be held July 9-10 at the Blaisdell
Exhibition Center. Exhibits will be FREE and open to the public.
People with disabilities, family members, advocates, and health service
professionals are encouraged to attend this didactic event.
Tools for Life 2004 EXPO is made possible by the leadership of the
Hawaii State Department of Health – Disability and Communication
Access Board (DCAB), Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii,
and Aloha Special Technology Access Center. Sponsors of the EXPO
include the Hawaii State Department of Health, State Department of
Education, Developmental Disabilities Council, Easter Seal Society,
PDMI Care Hawaii Centers for Independent Living, Center for Disability
Studies, UH Manoa, and Access Aloha Travel.
