On December 18, 2012, Governor Abercrobie signed Administrative Directive 12-06 which summarizes and repeals previous Administrative Directives related to the American's with Disabilities Act. A copy of the new Administrative Directive is available by clicking on the "State of Hawaii Resources" link on the navigation bar.

The Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 was signed into law on September 25, 2008. It went into effect on January 1, 2009 with final regulations issued on March 25, 2011. Information about the ADAAA is available on the EEOC web site which can be accessed by clicking on "Links to Federal ADA Agencies" on the right navigation bar of this page.

On September 15, 2010, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) issued final regulations on Title II and III of the ADA. The portion relating to access to services of state and county government went into effect on March 15, 2011. A link to the rules can be found on the right navigation bar by clicking on "Links to Federal ADA Agencies."
