The design criteria for the project was to upgrade an existing non-wheelchair accessible home to make all aspects of the home accessible. Subtle design and good aesthetics were used to make the entire family feel comfortable within the home. The overall design stayed within cost limitations and existing building setbacks.

 

Project objectives included:

• Provide wheelchair access around the outside of the house and to the landscape areas

• Provide wheelchair access throughout the interior pathways of the house

• Redesign kitchen and bathroom to provide good wheelchair access in an attractive way

• Redesign living room and bedroom

• Redesign office to allow owner to work efficiently from her home
