Administrative Directive No. 97-01 authorized by Governor Benjamin J. Cayetano, appointed the DCAB as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator for the Executive Branch departments. The DCAB staff was awarded the 1999 Team Excellence Award for its work related to State compliance to the ADA.
DCAB currently employees 18 staff members in a centralized office on Oahu. The staff work is divided into units, based on area of expertise:
