Housing
and Housing Related Programs
Most people
with disabilities and older people prefer to remain in their own homes. This
can sometimes be costly, especially for those on low and fixed incomes. There
are programs designed to assist home owners and renters. The following is
a brief description of these programs. You can call our Helpline (808 453-6151)
for additional assistance. In addition, you may call other organizations noted
in the program descriptions which follow.

City
& County Rental Assistance
The
County governments provide the federal funded Section 8 Program for rental
subsidies to be paid to landlords by income eligible families (elderly, handicapped
or disabled individuals).
Housing
and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii (HCDCH)
The
HCDCH manages federal and state public housing projects and related programs

Security Creates New Homeless Website
Social Security
introduced a new "Service to the Homeless" website. You can access the site
