I
n conjunction with other EHA offices, the Goals and Indicators
program develops program goals and performance indicators, coordinates
with County, Federal and other State agencies, and sets standards for
baseline evaluation of environmental quality.
Environmental Indicators Report
The Goals and Indicators program annually releases a report based on
data collected by the Department of Health environmental programs.
Environmental indicators are used to measure the quality of the
environment and/or progress made toward protection of the
environment.

The Goals and Indicators program has also helped create the
Strategic Plan for Hawaii Environmental Programs (January, 1999). This
document and it's 2001 update details the environmental goals developed
by the Department of Health for its environmental programs, with
specific benchmarks for each goal. You may download the update, the
original 109-page document, or just the 16-page Overview.

Environmental Enforcement and Inspection Actions
DOH tracks and reports summaries of its inspection and enforcement
actions for internal and public review. These summaries are prepared
and published on a quarterly basis in the Environmental
Notice put out by the Office of Environmental Quality Control
(OEQC). They are also available for viewing at the Environmental
Planning Office.
