T he Environmental Planning Office (EPO) assists the Deputy Director of Environmental Health to coordinate cross-program directives. EPO disseminates land use documents, tracks environmental legislation, provides Geographic Information System (GIS) support, develops environmental indicators, and coordinates public outreach and information of environmental programs. EPO consists of the Office Manager, Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist, Public Participation Coordinator and support staff.




The Water Quality Management Program has moved.

About the Environmental Planning Office

The Environmental Planning Office performs various functions.

Landuse Planning and Review Program

This program coordinates departmental evaluations on mitigative measures for proposed
developments statewide.
Downloadable standard comments are available to better prepare environmental impact
statements and assessments.

Goals and Indicators Program

In line with the Department of Health Strategic Plan, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Office of Environmental Quality Control requirements, the Environmental Planning Office compiles the 'Indicators of Environmental Quality Report' each year.

Environmental Geographic Information System

The EGIS is a computerized database system used for environmental planning, data analysis, and the creation of maps and reports. This program provides services to the Environmental Health Administration (EHA), and is instrumental in the creation of GIS data layers from environmental monitoring results.
