The State of Hawaii, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program was established by the 1997 State
Legislature as the result of the 1996 Federal amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act.
This program provides low interest loans to Hawaii’s four County water departments for the construction
of drinking water infrastructure projects. These projects help achieve or maintain
compliance with drinking water standards, protect public health and the environment. An Intended Use Plan
is developed annually which provides a status of the program and includes a priority list of projects.
If you are a county agency and would like more information about our program, please feel free to
contact us at (808) 586-4258.
