About the Hawaii Immunization Program

The goal of the Hawaii Immunization Program is to prevent diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox, hepatitis B, hemophilus influenza B, influenza, and pneumonia through immunizations. Shots or vaccinations are required for pre-school, kindergarten, 7th grade and college/university attendance in Hawaii. Many of these diseases are commonly thought of as childhood diseases but may occur later in adolescent or adult years. Vaccines that prevent these diseases are available to all age groups.

To find out about protection against these diseases, check our website for information on immunizations, school health requirements, and where to get shots.

School Health Requirements - Hawaii State Law requires all students to meet physical examination and immunization requirements before they may attend any public or private school in the state. This section provides information for parents and providers on these requirements.
