IPCP Vision
A Safe Hawai‘i… from the Mountains to the Sea.
IPCP Mission
To provide statewide leadership in preventing death and disability associated with injuries in Hawai‘i. This is accomplished by educating, supporting and mobilizing individuals and organizations to incorporate comprehensive injury prevention strategies in their on-going efforts.

In keeping with the mission of the Hawai‘i Department of Health, the IPCP provides leadership in monitoring the nature and impact of injury in Hawai‘i. The Program also protects and enhances the health and environmental well-being of the community through prevention projects such as Child Passenger Safety and School-Based Injury Prevention. In addition to learning about the IPCP and its projects, the site visitor will find here:

  • State Injury Prevention Plan (SIPP) recommendations and updates
  • Descriptions of resources and services supporting injury-related research
  • Injury information, including publications, compiled and produced by the IPCP
  • Introductions to the primary partners of the IPCP in promoting injury prevention

  • The invaluable contribution of community support and collaboration to the success of injury prevention endeavors is evident in all facets of Program activities. Inquiries or comments about this web site may be directed to the IPCP by telephone or U.S. mail. The IPCP hopes that whatever it shares through this web site will benefit its colleagues in injury prevention and control, both in Hawai‘i and beyond.
