Training

  • Trains University of Hawaii and Kapiolani Community College students.

  • Hosts workshops and trade demonstrations in laboratory science.

  • Provide adjunct faculty to area colleges and universities.
  • Trains law enforcement supervisors on breath alcohol testing.

  • Emergency response exercises & training with HFD, county, state, &
    federal law enforcement.

  • Leads the Hawaii Laboratory Response Network.

        Nathanial Moore examines biochemical reactions used to identify enteric bacteria.  He is a one-year Training Fellow sponsored by Centers for Disease Control and the Association of Public Health Laboratories.  SLD also has a 2-year Research Fellow, Dr. Brett Ellis.
