Established in 1839 under the Kingdom of Hawai`i, the Maui District
Health Office acts as an extension of the State Department of Health
for Maui County. Maui County encompasses the islands of Kaho`olawe,
Lana`i, Maui and Moloka`i.
Maui DHO serves its island community by providing resources and
expertise on areas such as; family health services, adult day centers,
public health nursing, environmental health services, family guidance
centers and emergency preparedness.
