ROLE OF YOUR DEPARTMENT'S PERSONNEL OFFICE
During any Reduction-In-Force (Placement), your department's Personnel Office plays an important role in providing you with information and assistance. Please contact your Personnel Office or designated official if you have any questions. To assist you with your RIF (Placement) job search, it is highly recommended that you complete this online RIF (Placement) Job Application and electronically send it to DHRD by the deadline specified in your RIF (Placement) notice. Please take this opportunity to enter all pertinent work history and duties in detail.
You may only file one RIF (Placement) application, so please follow the instructions carefully. You will not be able to change it once you've filed it.
If you have any questions, immediately seek information from your department's Personnel Office and/or union representative before you submit the online application.
While you are actively working on your RIF (Placement) Application it is highly recommended that you "save" your application every 15 minutes and do not leave your work unattended. You may "save" and close your RIF (Placement) Application while in progress to work on it later, submitting it by the deadline. We recommend that you complete it as soon as possible.

Consult your department's Personnel Office, designated official, and/or union representative, if necessary Before you begin, please assemble your documents, current job description, license(s), electronic resume, degree or transcripts, etc. Read the FAQs Download the "Users' Guide on How to Submit Online RIF (Placement) Application & Work Force Reduction Placement Questionnaire" and review it before you begin your application; establish a personal, non-State email account Familiarize yourself with the actual RIF (Placement) Application Form, we designed it with many of the same questions found in the State civil service application If you have any "Supplemental Documents," you must also submit a copy of these documents by email attachment to your online application - instructions are in the application itself
