the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 1997, the House of
Representatives concurring, that the 2 Houses of the Legislature
assemble in Joint Session in the Chambers of the Senate at 10:00
a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 1997, for the purpose of receiving
the State of the Judiciary address from the Chief Justice of the

DESCRIPT BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Nineteenth Legislature of
the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 1997, the House of
Representatives concurring, that the Legislative Reference Bureau
conduct a study and make recommendations on an appropriate salary
structure for all state justices and judges, including pay
supplements by increments for length of continuous creditable
service in the state judiciary; and
of indexing judicial salary increases to the consumer price index or
increases in compensation for other state civil service employees;
and
consult with the Judicial Salary Commission to obtain relevant
information; and
recommendations of the Legislative Reference Bureau, be submitted to
the Legislature not later than sixty days prior to the convening of

Kawaihae (Pua Kailima O Kawahae) Community Association to maintain
(give care to) the site; and
Resources is urged to establish a cooperative agreement with the Pau
Ka'ilima 'O Kawaihae Community Association to develop and carry out

DESCRIPT BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Nineteenth Legislature of
the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 1997, the House of
Representatives concurring, that the Office of Hawaiian Affairs is
requested to facilitate and convene, with the assistance of the
Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and other interested members of
the Hawaiian community, a task force comprised of experts in
agriculture, horticulture, economics, farming, fishing, and
nutrition from the private sector, the University of Hawaii, and the
Departments of Agriculture, Health, and Business, Economic
Development, and Tourism; representatives from farming and fishing
associations; and individual taro farmers, fishermen, limu growers,
and other cultural food producers, to develop a plan of action to
protect, improve, and expand traditional food resources and
production; and
Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the
1998 Regular Session regarding actions taken by it in connection

the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 1997, the House of
Representatives concurring, that the Legislature hereby resolves
that fibropapilloma is in fact a serious threat to Hawaii's green
sea turtle, a species protected by both state and federal statutes;
and
Resources report to the Legislature prior to the 1998 Regular
Session on the progress of the Sea Turtle Recovery Plan and research
