Lt. Governor Aiona's Public Schedule
November 23, Lt. Governor Aiona delivers remarks on the importance of volunteering and community involvement at the 2009 Department of Health Retired and Senior Volunteer Program event. The program provides a variety of volunteer opportunities for retired and senior persons aged 55 and older to participate more fully in the community through volunteer services.
November 23, The Lt. Governor encourages support for The Salvation Army through the Red Kettle campaign, which is the organization’s primary fundraiser during the holiday season. Through donations, The Salvation Army helps provide needy families and individuals with food, clothing and gift donations during the holidays.
November 24, During Operation Best Wishes, presented by Hawaiian Tel Federal Credit Union, Lt. Governor Aiona salutes the men and women serving in the armed forces overseas via a webcast message. The event allows family members to step into a state-of-the-art webcast studio to connect with their deployed loved ones.
November 25, The Lt. Governor attends a group wedding ceremony and gives the blessing to couples from China as part of a popular television program in Tianjin, China. This is the first year that the show will be filmed on O`ahu – the event has been televised on the Big Island for the past three years. This year's show comes as the State prepares to welcome the first scheduled air service between Hawai`i and China next year.

November 28, Sponsored by the Kau Kau Wagon and Aloha United Way, the Lt. Governor serves holiday meals to attendees and delivers remarks on the importance of community volunteering. The Kau Kau Wagon serves the hungry every Saturday with the help of churches, schools and businesses, mixing in food with other support, including pet therapy and dispersal of donated clothing and toiletries.
