Lt. Governor Aiona presents a commendation to Edmund “Buster” Civerolo for being honored with the 2009 Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year Award.

Civerolo won the award based on positive demeanor, team spirit, personal attention given to each guest and commitment to giving back to the community.  He also has received the 2009 Na Po‘e Pa‘ahana award and was named Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year by the Hawai‘i Hotel & Lodging Association.

The Lt. Governor thanked Civerolo for working to provide Hawai‘i’s visitors with a memorable experience.

“Buster has shown great enthusiasm and respect to Hawai‘i’s visitors and his positive attitude and 10,000-watt smile have been trademarks in the hotel and lodging industry, Lt. Governor Aiona said.

Hawai‘i's workforce is known for excellent customer service skills, natural friendliness, strong work ethic, loyalty and dedication.

In fact, a recent State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism  Visitor Satisfaction and Activity Report found roughly two-thirds of Mainland and Canadian visitors rated their trips in Hawai‘i as ”excellent” and with very little fluctuation year-over-year.
