Lt. Governor Aiona last week participated in the 2009 Department of Transportation (DOT) Highways Division Design Conference to promote collaborative leadership and progressive thinking within the division.
Providing Congestion Relief for West Maui
Lt. Governor Aiona and State Department of Transportation officials today broke ground on the Honoapi`ilani Highway Widening Project from the Lahainaluna Road to Aholo Road.
Promoting Family Literacy
Lt. Governor Aiona traveled to Hawai`i Island to help engage families in reading-related activities as part of Read Aloud America's Read Aloud Program (RAP). The Lt. Governor has been actively involved with the literacy program since 2004 and helped to expand RAP across the state.
