NOVEMBER 9, Lt. Governor Aiona delivers remarks on how to best respond to the threat of terrorism and natural disasters in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference will focus on present and future capabilities needed to protect population centers in the region.
NOVEMBER 9, The Lt. Governor will welcome a delegation from Okinawa, including Governor Hirokazu Nakaima, to discuss international issues. Media RSVP required. NOVEMBER 9, Lt. Governor Aiona delivers remarks on the importance of reading to children – in the classroom and at home – on a regular basis to increase their prospects for success in school and life. The Lt. Governor delivers remarks honoring the distinguished service of Hawai`i’s men and women in uniform, as well as those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of freedom. NOVEMBER 11, Lt. Governor Aiona delivers remarks at the 2009 Governor’s Veterans Day Ceremony to honor servicemen and servicewomen of the past and present for their sacrifices.
