Today, Lt. Governor Aiona is the featured speaker at an event in Wai`anae marking the first anniversary of an emergency transitional shelter for homeless families.
Lt. Governor Aiona helped officially open the Pai`olu Kaiaulu Transitional Homeless SHelter in March 2007.
Since then, it has catered to homeless families who have been living on beaches and in parks along the Leeward Coast of O`ahu.
The event is planned for the Wai`anae Civic Center.
