This week, the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard is being recognized for its 100 years of service to Hawai`i and the nation.
Lt. Governor Aiona joined Governor Linda Lingle in proclaiming the week of May 11-17, 2008 as "Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Centennial Week" in Hawai`i.
The shipyard employs nearly 5,000 sailors and civilians and generates more than $600 million annually for Hawai`i's local economy.
