STATE EMPLOYEES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, PRIVATE BUSINESSES RECOGNIZED FOR WORK ON ONELAU`ENA HOMELESS SHELTER

January 26 - "By working on the Onelau`ena project, you brought the community and state together. You brought compassion and you made people expose their hearts," said Lt. Governor Aiona at a luncheon to thank state workers, private businesses, and community organizations who helped build the Onelau`ena Transitional Shelter in Kalaeloa. Onelau`ena, which opened in October 2006, is part of the Administration's efforts to address homeless solutions. Two hundred twenty-four residents, 114 of whom are children, live at the shelter.
