January 4 - Lt. Governor Aiona joined
government, military, and business leaders at the 6th annual Hawai`i
Military Partnership Conference luncheon. The luncheon, which was hosted by
the Military Affairs Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawai`i, updated
state and county officials and business leaders on the status of the
military’s presence in Hawai`i. Under Secretary of Homeland Security for
Science and Technology Jay Cohen also spoke on his efforts to update the
department’s technology systems and rules to make America safer and keep air
travel convenient for passengers and cost-effective for airlines.
