July 3- Lt. Governor Aiona made an appearance at  a free robotics workshop held at Chaminade University to prepare Hawai`i students and teachers for the FIRST Regional Robotics Competition planned for March 2008. The workshop was hosted by the Eagle Engineering robotics team from Chaminade Preparatory Academy in Los Angeles, California.

"Robotics is much more than learning about science, technology, engineering and math, it's about building relationships and helping each other learn what's so vital in this world, " Lt. Governor Aiona said. "It's much more than a competition, it’s about learning how we relate."

July 3 was the final day of the students' workshop. Students had the opportunity to build robots and heard presentation on robotics. About  107 students attended the two-day workshop.
