LT. GOVERNOR AIONA DISCUSSES THE IMPORTANCE OF ROBOTICS
July 3- Lt. Governor Aiona made an
appearance at a free robotics workshop held at Chaminade University to
prepare Hawai`i students and teachers for the FIRST Regional Robotics
Competition planned for March 2008. The workshop was hosted by the Eagle
Engineering robotics team from Chaminade Preparatory Academy in Los Angeles,
California.
"Robotics is much more than learning about science, technology, engineering and math, it's about building relationships and helping each other learn what's so vital in this world, " Lt. Governor Aiona said. "It's much more than a competition, it’s about learning how we relate."
July 3 was the final day of the students'
workshop. Students had the opportunity to build robots and heard
presentation on robotics. About 107 students attended the two-day
workshop.
