ROLE MODELS RECOGNIZED FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH
July 5- Miss Hawai`i 2007 Ashley
Layfield and Keanalu Chartrand were recognized by Lt. Governor Aiona for
their efforts to cultivate responsible behavior among youth across the
state.
He proclaimed July 5, 2007 as Ashley Layfield
Day in Hawai`i, marking the 21-year-old University of Hawaii student's
commitment to "using her position to advocate for the importance of
performing arts in a well-rounded education."
The Lt. Governor also proclaimed Dec. 26, 2007 as Keanalu Chartrand Day in
Hawai'i, recognizing the 19-year-old old risident's birthday and his
spirited outreach to at-risk youth in his community.
