HAWAI'I LAUNCHES MENTAL HEALTH CARE INITIATIVE
July 11- Lt. Governor Aiona is
helping lead a statewide effort to improve mental-health care in
Hawai`i, which has been awarded a $10.9 million federal grant for the
initiative.
The effort was launched during a conference at Washington Place, where the
groundwork was laid to implement the five, year grant from the Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Lt. Governor Aiona called the grant an important public victory that
reaffirms the state's commitment to caring for the mental health of
residents.
"The goal of our Administration is to make Hawai`i healthier," he said.
"This grant will help us move one step closer to that reality."
