UNDERAGE DRINKING DISCUSSED AT TOWNHALL MEETING WITH ACTING U.S. SURGEON GENERAL

May 23 - Lt. Governor Aiona hosted a call-to-action town hall meeting on underage drinking with Acting U.S. Surgeon General Kenneth Moritsugu, who was born and raised in Honolulu and graduated from the University of Hawai‘i.

"When an issue such as underage is preventable, there's no argument to it," said the Lt. Governor.

Alcohol has emerged as the most heavily abused substance by youth. Hawai‘i is one of five states where the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has declared a call-to-action in an attempt to change the culture and attitudes toward drinking among children.
