LT. GOVERNOR PROMOTES HBO'S "THE ADDICTION PROJECT"

March 14 - Lt. Governor Aiona joined representatives from the Aloha United Way, Hina Mauka and drug prevention and treatment providers to announce the HBO 14-part documentary series “The Addiction Project.” “We need to continue the focus on continuing to raise awareness and provide education on addiction and treatment,” said Lt. Governor Aiona.  The documentary  seeks to raise awareness about addictionand the ongoing collaborative efforts to address the problem. “Parents can use the program as a platform to discuss with their children the dangers of substance abuse,” added the Lt. Governor. “Employers can use this as a platform to raise awareness and to inform their employees about their drug usage policies.” “The Addiction Project” is produced by HBO in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The program will be shown free on Saturday, April 7 at 8:45 a.m. on HBO Signature, Channel 613.
