APRIL 25TH PROCLAIMED WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL ROBOTICS DAY
April 25 - On behalf of Governor Lingle, Lt. Governor Aiona congratulated the
Waiakea High School FIRST Robotics Team for their performance at the 2007
FIRST Robotics Championship in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this month.
"The team represented Hawai'i proudly by winning five of their
seven matches and finishing 24th out of 86 teams in the Galileo Division,
the toughest of the competition," said Lt. Governor Aiona. "Team members
exhibited exemplary leadership and sportsmanship."
Lt. Governor and Mrs. Aiona joined the team in Atlanta as part of
the official Hawai‘i delegation. The Lingle-Aiona Administration is
supporting robotics as part of the Hawai‘i Innovation Initiative to engage
students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)
education.
