LT. GOVERNOR PARTICIPATES IN MILITARY DEPLOYMENT CEREMONY
October 30 -
Expressing support for a Hawai`i-based combat team that is preparing for a
15-month deployment to Iraq, the Lt. Governor participated in the 25th
Infantry Division, Stryker Brigade Combat Team's deployment ceremony at
Schofield Barracks.
The Stryker Brigade Combat Team's deployment is scheduled for the end of
this year.
"Please know our thoughts are with you, as are the thoughts of everyone who
loves freedom," Lt. Governor said during his remarks.
The Lt. Governor also assured the troops and their families that he and
Governor Linda Lingle "appreciate their sacrifices."
"We'll do all we can for your families back home," Lt. Governor Aiona said.
"We'll work hard to make sure the streets are safe and that your children
receive a quality education."
