At a recent Kokua for Maui event, I had the pleasure of meeting Marvin (@marvint_music), an incredible Maui-based musician and police officer who lost his home during the wildfires. ![]()

He shared with me that despite losing his guitar in the fire, he was generously gifted a new one, thanks to the outpouring of donations for our Maui 'ohana and the donation distribution network. The donated guitar came with a note from its previous owner, expressing hope for the healing power of music.![]()

I had such a wonderful time celebrating Shizue and visiting the Furukawa Living Treasure Senior Activity Day Care Center, one of the longest-running adult day care centers serving Honolulu.
