A Pacific Air Express twin engine cargo plane crashed at the Kalaupapa Airstrip after the pilot attempted to abort a landing. The pilot and cargo handler aboard the plane were not injured. |

A Cessna 402B hit a hump on the runway while taking off. Just off the beach, the left wing tip struck a large wave. The aircraft continued flying, but the left wing was substantially damaged. No injuries. |

A Royal Hawaiian Airways Cessna 402C was landing when a 20-foot wave ricocheted off the runway embankment, striking the aircraft's right flap. The plane landed safely. There were no injuries. |
