Opinion Letter Summary

Opinion Letter No. 91-01
February 15, 1991
Massage Therapist License Applications

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs must keep a massage therapist license
application confidential until such time as it has issued a license. After a license has been issued, the
name, type of license, status of license, public record address, other names used, previous licenses
held, previous and pending disciplinary actions and convictions, and the names of educational
institutions where the licensee completed training must be public accessible. Other information about
the licensee must not be disclosed to avoid a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.
