Grade Level Guide
is a product of the ARTS FIRST
Partners’ strategic plan for arts
education. It
provides tools for teachers to
facilitate their students’
achievement of the Hawaii Content
and Performance Standards III Fine
Arts standards.
It is designed to give
teachers useful examples of art
lessons that they can adapt to their
own classroom at each grade level. Examples
include lessons in four art forms:
visual arts, music, drama, and
dance. Many
of the lessons integrate state
benchmarks in the art form with
another core content area – math,
language arts, science or social
studies.
