AMERICA In Concert

 

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center announces AMERICA in Concert, Saturday, August 8th at 7:30pm on the Events Lawn at the MACC.   AMERICA in concert is a Tom Moffat Production and Sponsored by the County of Maui. The concert is the County’s Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Statehood. The power and poignancy of AMERICA’s musical imagery catapulted the group to the top of the charts in the 70’s with such memorable hits as “Horse With No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” “I Need You,” “Lonely People,” “Muskrat Love,” “Tin Man, ” “Sister Golden Hair” and more.
 
AMERICA is led by Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Buckley, who bring back the hits. From their formative years, America has been a band capable of transcending borders with its uplifting music and positive message. Embracing a melting pot of divergent cultures, America's audiences continue to grow, comprising a loyal legion of first, second and third generation fans, all bearing testament to the group's enduring appeal. From anonymous horses to fast-moving trains, America's extraordinary four-decade musical legacy of consummately crafted pop/rock songs, trademark lush harmonies and evocative lyrical landscapes will never go out of style.Bring your chairs and blankets for a concert to remember under the stars.
 
Tickets: Two for $50 (for the first 150 pairs) $40 General Audience, and $65 for VIP seating. All tickets plus applicable fees. VIP seating includes a signed poster and meet and greet with the band. The Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Statehood will be prior to the concert from 4-6pm on the A&B Amphitheater lawn. It is a FREE event and features Food, Fun and Frolic, with the majority of food and games for 50 cents…reminiscent of the prices of yesteryear. Fifty cent hotdogs, shave ice, games, and a bouncy castle for the kids will also be available.  Sponsored by the County of Maui and the Statehood Commission.
