Salvation Army, Hawaiian and Pacific Islands
The Salvation Army provides a broad array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
Washington Place
Across the street from the State Capitol on Beretania Street is Washington Place, former home to a dozen of Hawai`i’s governors. Queen Lili`uokalani, the last Hawaiian monarch, also lived in this residence.
Hawai`i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts
The HSFCA was established to promote, perpetuate, preserve and encourage culture and the arts, history and the humanities as central to the quality of life of the people of Hawai`i. HSFCA funding is provided by the State of Hawai`i and the National Endowment for the Arts. The HSFCA is administratively attached to the Department of Accounting and General Services.

Historic Hawai‘i Foundation has a passion for telling stories about people, history and culture through the celebration of historic buildings and communities. HHF explores, preserves and nurtures diverse cultural and historic places and perspectives of Hawai‘i by working to ensure that the heritage of every historical era remains as part of the communities’ civic treasuries as a living, useful part of the present.

Governor, Duke Aiona has built a proven record of integrity, leadership and commitment. First elected to public office in 2002 as Hawai`i’s 11th Lt. Governor, Duke Aiona has led the fight against crime and illegal drugs while working to strengthen Hawai`i’s families. Lt. Governor Aiona and Governor Linda Lingle became Hawai`i's first Republican Administration to win a second term, and they won with the largest margin of victory in any gubernatorial race in the history of the state.
